KCP Earns Global Spot in UI GreenMetric Sustainability Rankings

A new chapter in sustainability unfolds for King’s College of the Philippines (KCP) as it makes its debut in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, placing 1497th globally, 910th in Asia, and 85th among higher education institutions in the Philippines. This milestone marks KCP’s first year of participation, joining 1,745 universities from 101 countries that are actively advancing environmental stewardship around the world.

KCP’s sustainability journey is anchored in its central theme: “Preserving divine creation: Fostering commitment to sustainable practices, renewable energy, and impactful research for a greener and carbon neutral world by 2050.”

Guided by this vision, the institution continues to strengthen environmental preservation efforts, promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and uphold its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by the year 2050. These goals are being integrated into the curriculum, campus initiatives, student-led activities, and long-term project planning.

UI GreenMetric is a global university ranking system by the University of Indonesia that evaluates universities based on their initiatives and commitment to sustainable development. The evaluation covers key areas such as campus infrastructure, energy conservation and climate action, waste and water management practices, green transportation, and sustainability-focused education and research. KCP’s inclusion reflects its growing dedication to environmental responsibility and institutional transformation.

As KCP steps onto another global sustainability stage, this recognition serves as a meaningful continuation of the school’s sustainability efforts. It shows the university’s dedication to nurturing environmentally conscious leaders and contributing to a world that strives for ecological restoration and climate resilience.
