The King’s College of the Philippines proudly recognizes Team Arkila—Melbert Marafo, Jeverlyn Antonio, Brien Palay-en, and Charlie Toribio—with their mentor and adviser, Ginard Guaki (TorogiPro), for emerging as one of the finalists in the prestigious DICT Startup Challenge X.
What began as a simple idea grew into a solution to a much larger real-world problem. Without realizing it at first, the team was innovating something that could improve mobility and accessibility for local communities. From classroom brainstorming to a regional-stage pitch, Arkila evolved into a compelling startup concept worthy of recognition.
Standing alongside young innovators from top universities in the region is already a remarkable achievement on its own. Team Arkila proved that they can match the level of the leading institutions—showing not only technical skill, but also grit, creativity, and the courage to present their work with confidence. Their journey highlights that true innovation isn’t defined by trophies; it is shaped by the willingness to solve problems, take risks, and believe in the power of small beginnings.
