King’s College of the Philippines inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the PNP Regional Forensic Unit Cordillera (RFU COR) last May 20, 2024, at the KCP Employees’ Lounge. Representing the parties were Atty. Rolando T. Vergara, KCP President, and PCOL Marites Bugnay Villacarlos, RFU COR Chief.
This MOU signing was made possible by the support and leadership of Atty. Rolando T. Vergara through the initiative of the Institutional Quality Assurance (IQA) Office headed by Steve A. Solano. With this collaboration, KCP and RFU are dedicated to better enhance and equip the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) on-the-job-training (OJT) students with lectures and practical exercises related to forensic examination conducted by each RFU Technical Sections. As highlighted by Regional Chief PCOL Villacarlos, “RFU would like to support classroom instruction by mentoring the students.” This mentorship marks a significant step in providing practical experiences to future criminologists, ensuring they are thoroughly prepared and highly competent for their careers, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application. //JMF
