The program prepares graduates to address various user needs involving the selection, development, application, integration and management of computing technologies within an organization.
The BS Information program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing and administering, and maintaining information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organization.

Specifically, students to take this specialization shall be prepared for any role where analysis of large amounts of data can make decision-making smarter like in the helping of others understand the impact of government or non-government programs, and determining who gets loans at what rates. Statistical analysis, data mining, and big data were listed among the hottest skills of the 21st century. Students will learn from statisticians, data miners, and information systems experts, who teach through practical, hands-on projects. Working with faculty on real-world projects in the classroom and the research consulting center leads to collaborative learning.
