The Department

We are committed to nurturing the holistic development of every child, encompassing their physical, socio-emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Our goal is to produce socially active global citizens who demonstrate Christian values, patriotism, and are prepared for diverse career opportunities.

King’s College of the Philippines is a mission school under the auspices of the Northern Luzon Presbyterian Church. Its beginnings can be traced from the arrival of a Korean Missionary, Rev. Kwon Young Soo in the Philippines in 1991.

For more than a decade, Missionary Kwon laboriously ministered to a great number of people in the various Cordillera provinces namely: Mt. Province, Kalinga, Apayao, Ifugao, Benguet, Isabela, Cagayan, and also Baguio City. Noting the lack of trained clergy, Rev. Kwon established a Bible School named Zoe Logos Temple Ministry in Sabangan, Mt. Province. Eventually, to address the concern of growing number of unschooled youth in the Cordilleras, and with assistance from church and individual sponsors – local and overseas, he established Eastern Luzon Colleges in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya in 2003 and Eastern Luzon Colleges in 2004 in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Having been successfully registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines and duly recognized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Eastern Luzon Colleges – Benguet now renamed Kings College of the Philippines offers technical and vocational courses as well as career degree courses and programs. KCP’s qualifying distinction lies embedded in its logo and its stated mission and vision. Christian spirituality and values, academic purpose, responsibility, compassion, and service to others, underscore the daily life in KCP.

Objectives

Generate socially active students who are globally competent;
Produce highly responsive and responsible graduates manifesting Christian character;
Provide students with competitive training and education to ensure employment opportunity;
Instill in students a sense of patriotism, culture, and environmental awareness; and
Ascertain students’ competence in academic research and innovation.

Our curriculum is designed to be developmental and flexible, incorporating innovative approaches such as spiral progression, transdisciplinary learning, and multi- integrative methodologies. We also provide differentiated and modified instruction for learners with special needs, as well as reading enhancement programs and support for those requiring special educational assistance.

Central to our school’s foundation are our core values: wisdom, love, and truth, all of which are Christ-centered. We recognize the significance of instilling these values in our students and equally emphasize equipping our teachers with the values of respect and admiration. Together, we create an environment that fosters mutual respect and admiration among all members of our school community.
