The Vision Begins
Rev. Kwon, Young Soo, a Korean missionary, visits the Philippines and recognizes the spiritual and educational needs in the Cordillera region.
This institution recognizes the Almighty God, the King of kings, as its sole foundation; hence, named as King’s College of the Philippines (Bible Ref. Revelation 19:16)
This institution promotes love for the country. Blue: Freedom, Red: Justice, White: Truth (Acknowledges the Holy Bible as the word of God, hence the truth)
The King’s College of the Philippines conforms to the word of God as the foundation of Christian living and, as an educational institution, continues to integrate traditional materials and methods as a means of instruction along with advancing technology.

Rev. Kwon, Young Soo, a Korean missionary, visits the Philippines and recognizes the spiritual and educational needs in the Cordillera region.
Driven by a profound sense of mission, Rev. Kwon returns to the Philippines in 1991, committing himself fully to the people he had grown to love. He begins his ministry across the Cordillera provinces (Mt. Province, Kalinga, Apayao, Ifugao, Benguet) and the Cagayan Valley Region, determined to bring both spiritual guidance and educational opportunities to underserved areas.
In response to the need for trained clergy, Rev. Kwon establishes a Bible School in Sabangan, Mt. Province, laying the foundation for future academic ventures.
Recognizing the need for broader education, Rev. Kwon establishes two higher education campuses: Eastern Luzon Colleges in Nueva Vizcaya and ELC-Benguet in Benguet.
KCP (then ELC-Benguet) receives TESDA approval to offer vocational courses, including Automotive Mechanics, Electrical Installation, and Computer Secretarial. First batch of over 200 vocational graduates completes their studies.
KCP begins offering its first bachelor’s degree programs: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Computer Science, Business Administration, Office Administration, and Education. The Criminology program is also introduced.
To emphasize its Christian mission, ELC is rebranded as King’s College of the Philippines. This marks a pivotal step in aligning the institution’s identity with its values and objectives.
KCP introduces new programs: Technical Teacher Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Information Science, and Theology.
The Criminology program achieves a 100% passing rate in the Criminology Licensure Exam, maintaining this impressive record for three consecutive years.
KCP records over 800 graduates annually across its degree and vocational programs. The Criminology program stands out nationally, topping the Criminology Board Exams in 2013.
In line with the nationwide K-12 program, KCP expands to offer basic education, enrolling 1,800 students in Grades K-3, Junior High (Grades 6-10), and Senior High (Grades 11-12). building, and gymnasium.
KCP transitions from renting buildings to establishing a permanent campus in Pico, La Trinidad, with the construction of a 6-story building and additional facilities like a church, technical school building, and gymnasium.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, KCP now has five accredited programs at Level 1: Criminology, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Business Management. The Criminology program remains the flagship due to its consistent board exam success.
KCP is led by OIC President Ae Jin Kwon, with a growing community of over 3,500 students and 274 employees, including 198 faculty members. KCP remains dedicated to providing high-quality Christian education and service to the people of the Cordillera region and beyond.
KCP participated in the 2024 WURI Global Conference in Seoul from September 24-26, earning global recognition with top rankings: 6th in Leadership, 7th in Student Support and Management, and 18th in Crisis Management. These achievements highlight KCP’s commitment to excellence and innovation among the top 300 universities worldwide.
A recognition from World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) 2024, securing top rankings in three categories: Leadership, Student Support, and Crisis Management.
In a significant acknowledgment of KCP's commendable contributions to local tourism and community care in the Municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet.
A recognition from DSWD for the unwavering support and outstanding contribution of KCP to the successful implementation of DSWD programs and services in CAR for C.Y. 2022.
