KCP Recognized at 2025 FLAIR Masterclass, Sets Sights on Higher Global Rankings

Guided by its vision of producing exemplars in their chosen fields, Kings
College of the Philippines (KCP) continues to inspire generations of globally
competitive professionals who love God, lead the nation, and light the world. In
pursuit of this vision, the institution actively strives to establish its presence on the
global stage through participation in international university rankings and recognition
programs.
This commitment recently earned KCP recognition during the FLAIR (Filipino
Leaders in Advancing International Reputation) Masterclass, held at Verbist Hall,
Saint Louis University (SLU), Baguio City, on September 30–October 1, 2025.
The Commission on Higher Education–Cordillera Administrative Region
(CHED–CAR), led by Regional Director Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes, honored Higher
Education Institutions (HEIs) in the region for their achievements in international
rankings. Dr. Catanes challenged HEIs to strive for inclusion in the Top 100
universities globally and commended each institution for their progress toward this
goal.
KCP was recognized for placing 273rd in the World University Rankings for
Innovation (WURI) 2025 and for securing a spot in the 1501+ bracket of the Times
Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025. The award was received on behalf
of the college by KCP Institutional Quality Assurance Head Steve A. Solano.
With this recognition serving as both a milestone and motivation, KCP is
inspired to aim for higher global rankings in the years ahead. As noted by the
speakers, international visibility is vital not only for forging partnerships both locally
and globally but also for enhancing institutional structures, programs, and strategic
directions that uphold academic excellence and innovation.
The two-day masterclass, organized by CHED–CAR in partnership with Saint
Louis University (SLU) and the Cordillera Association of International Relations
Officers (CAIRO), brought together 17 higher education institutions to strengthen
internationalization initiatives and futures thinking in Philippine higher education.
