Library Services and Resources
KCP LIBRARY
KCP has two separate libraries, the basic education library and the college library. Their common mission is to provide quality resources innovative services that sustain and encourage
the academic endeavours of the institution.
OBJECTIVES
1. Provide a conducive learning environment to diverse users;
2. Facilitate users to locate and use information resources effectively and efficiently;
3. Acquire and update all library resources that support the academic endeavors of the institutions;
4. Collaborate with other institutions as a cost-effective means of expanding the resources and services;
5. Upgrade physical and technological infrastructure to enhance quality services; and
6. Build various forms of learning resources to cater to the needs of its generation.

Monday to Friday – 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday – 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Closed on Sundays and holidays
Short Term:
Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

SERVICES OFFERED
CIRCULATION SERVICES
The circulation service handles the checking out and returning of library materials to all bona fide members of KCP Employees and students.
REFERENCE SERVICE
Librarians are readily available to provide assistance or instruction in using the Library, including locating materials, utilizing the library catalog, accessing information through computers, and using basic reference sources.
LIBRARY ORIENTATION
This service provides students and employees with an introduction and basic information about library services, facilities, policies, and resources. It is usually during the first or second week of the semester.
AUDIO-VISUAL ROOM
The Library offers a dynamic Audio-Visual Room designed to support academic instruction and enhance student engagement. This immersive multimedia space accommodates up to 45 users and is ideal for group viewings, presentations, and interactive learning sessions.
INTERNET SERVICE
The Internet is one of the most valuable technologies of modern times. It helps us not only in our daily lives but also in our professional lives. For educational purposes, it is widely used to gather information, conduct research, and expand knowledge in various subjects.
CURRENT AWARENESS SERVICE
Current Awareness Service is the dissemination of information that will keep users well-informed and up-to-date in their fields of basic interest and related subjects.
DISCUSSION ROOM
This service provides a designated space for group study, collaborative learning, and academic discussions, accommodating 4 to 8 persons. Availability is from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Discussion rooms must be booked in advance. Walk-ins may use the rooms if unoccupied, but must vacate if a reserved group arrives.
REFERRAL SERVICE
Provided to enrolled students, faculty members, and staff who wish to use other library resources outside KCP Libraries. They may secure a Referral Letter from the office of the Chief Librarian. However, access is subject to the policies of the receiving institution. Patrons from other institutions are afforded services and resources from the KCP Libraries, subject to the circulation policies and procedures.
LIBRARY POLICIES
1. Requirements for Borrowing
• Referral letter for visiting researchers, a valid ID, and to pay Php50.00 at the cashier.
• Validated KCP Identification Card.
2. Loan Policies
For Students:
Students may borrow General Circulation, Theology, and Filipiniana books for a maximum of 3 days, with a check-out limit of 3 items at a time. Fiction books may be borrowed for up to 7 days, also with a maximum check-out of 3 items. However, Theses, Periodicals, and Reference materials are strictly for room use only and cannot be checked out.
For Faculty and Staff:
Faculty and staff may borrow both General Circulation, Theology, and Filipiniana books and Fiction books for a period of 1 month, with a maximum check-out of 5 items at a time. Similar to students, Theses, Periodicals, and Reference materials are limited to room use only and are not available for outside borrowing.
3. Lost Library Materials
The borrower is responsible for replacing lost or damaged library materials, whether intentionally or accidentally.
• The following options shall be applied:
• For Books, Periodicals, and AV Materials:
• Replace with the same or updated material.
• The borrower pays the item’s current price/ subscription rate if the same or updated material is unavailable.
• Replace the library material related to the topic/subject of the lost item with the same or updated copyright year.
For accompanying audio-visual materials of books:
• Replacement with the same material.
• In case the same material is unavailable, replacement may be any audio- visual material related to the topic/subject of the lost item and with the same or updated copyright year.
• A processing fee of Php50.00 shall be charged for each library material lost/damaged.
4. Clearance
Students/employees shall be cleared from the Library only when the borrowed library materials are returned, or the accountabilities are settled.
Borrowing of library materials and equipment is no longer allowed for the following:
a. employees – once the Chief Librarian signs the exit clearance.
b. students – if patron status is inactive.
5. Library General Rules and Regulations
• A student with a valid school ID is allowed to enter the Library. Write their name in the logbook upon entering the Library. No student is allowed to borrow any library materials unless their ID has been validated.
• Students are not allowed to linger or loiter inside the Library to avoid disturbing other library patrons. Clean as you go.
• Foods and flavored drinks are not allowed inside the Library.
• Silence should always be observed inside the Library. Idle conversations, loud laughter, and unnecessary noise must be avoided.
• Library facilities should be handled with care. Leaning or writing on them is to be avoided.
• Books and other library materials should be handled with care. Leaning or writing on them is to be avoided.
• Students should refrain from unwelcome acts of hiding or stealing books and other library materials. Tearing out pages from library books and forging signatures will be subject to disciplinary action.
