The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has commenced its monitoring visit at King’s College of the Philippines (KCP), Benguet, a two-day event scheduled for October 9-10, 2024. The visit began with an opening program at the college’s conference room, followed by a comprehensive inspection led by the CHED Monitoring Team.

During the opening remarks, Ms. Melody Labawig, a representative from CHED, emphasized the Commission’s Collaborative approach to the visit. “We came here as partners, not as police or critics,” she stated. “Our goal is to understand the current state of the institution and identify areas for improvement, so we can assist KCP in enhancing its standards and offerings.”

The monitoring process involves a detailed assessment of various aspects of the college, including its academic programs, facilities, faculty qualifications, and national educational standards and offers quality education to its students. KCP’s President, Dr. Ae Jin Kwon expressed gratitude for CHED’s support and welcomed the insights from the monitoring process. She believes that the visit will provide valuable feedback to help the institution continue its growth and maintain its commitment to academic excellence.

The CHED monitoring visit is a part of the regular oversight and support provider to higher education institutions across the country. By conducting these assessments, CHED seeks to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the Philippine Higher Education System.
