KCP joins RCE 2025

The Recyclable Collection Event (RCE) is an initiative organized by EMB-CAR in partnership with the La Trinidad Local Government Unit and local recyclers. This event encourages the community to participate in a one-week challenge to collect recyclables in exchange for a cash incentive, transforming trash into cash. The event also coincides with Earth Day 2025.

The RCE took place on April 29, 2025, at the La Trinidad Tourism Building, located at Km. 5 in La Trinidad, Benguet.

There were three categories for recognizing the Best Recyclers: barangays, schools, and community organizations. Additionally, awards were given to individuals who participated in the event.

Among the various participating entities, King’s College of the Philippines (KCP) won first place in the school category. Despite the significant differences in the amounts of recyclables collected by participating schools, KCP excelled and secured the top award.

This achievement highlights the effectiveness of documentation during cleanup drives, waste segregation, and sorting of recyclables.

As a result, KCP earned the title of Best Recycler in the school category. This award should not only be celebrated but also serve as motivation to enhance community service efforts and promote a cleaner environment.
